Artist Statement

My work consists of drawings, paintings, mix media and photography that takes inspiration from my personal identity and culture that derives from my hometown Manila, Philippines. Art has always been a consistent part of my life and became an outlet to express her story and emotions throughout her childhood. My work is always adapting to change, showcasing my flexibility and versatility as a young artist, mainly focusing on the beauty of architecture, design, and abstraction.

Laruan

This piece is a still-life drawing of toys drawn with charcoal. “Laruan” is a Tagalog word translating to toys. The word “Present” to me, means reminiscing about the gifts and blessings I received throughout my childhood and up until the present moment as an adult. It could also mean to present ones self to the world in so many ways. For me, that is through art.
