Roots
This piece was inspired by one of the few memories I have left of my home country. Though it is not an accurate depiction of what I saw, but more on what the scenery made me feel when I visited the place. It was calm, warm, and peaceful. Just before the black ink dries on the paper becoming as still as that moment from years ago, it disperses and fades; painting what was left from my childhood memory before it completely vanishes.

How did you start your art practice?
I started to take interest in drawing and other forms of art making ever since my early childhood living in the Philippines. I began with just simple drawings, then explored different mediums such as charcoal. Then I started to paint with acrylic, eventually incorporating mix media in my work. I learned and challenged myself to do watercolour, making sculptures, and in architecture and design.
