Parasite

Only in my sculpture works do I work intuitively rather than with a final result in mind. Here, I was thinking about the future generations in my family, how I'll have to be a part in bringing our stories into their lives, and my fear of failing them. I was also experimenting with new mediums and incorporating found objects into my practice.

Artist’s statement

A majority of my work centres around healing and intergenerational learning, with a primary focus on printmaking. I combine elements of the natural world and fable narratives into my drawing practice, and incorporate textiles into all my works on paper. I’m never doing the same thing twice, and try not to let myself get stuck indulging in the same lessons as I’m always hoping to learn from the next emotional hurdle. My art is very personal, but I hope every viewer can find themselves in these stories.
