[they/them] BFA Visual Studies & BA Communication and Media Studies, 4th year

Aidan Dupuis is an emerging artist currently studying at the University of Calgary, working in printmaking, drawing, and textile media. They center healing and intergenerational storytelling in their work by combining elements of the natural world with fable narratives to explore the many nuances of how familial narratives are transformed over time. They are currently working on multiple long-term projects, including two books and their honours research in both fields of Visual Studies and Communication and Media Studies. Dupuis grounds their work in backgrounds of queer theory, historical material practices, and embodied systems of knowledge.

Sacrificial Celebrant, 2025. Woodblock on Stonehenge Grey, 22" x 30"

The trinity will watch over this sacrifice, they'll even support it. The crows will justify their feast through their regal candor, their decorations and adornments. They'll build their own set of iconography, turn this into a practice. And you too, will watch them do it, see them create a set of rules that say this act of violence is earned. The crows welcome you to the celebration of His life and His passing, served for you on a platter. He's only a child.
