Artist Biography

Art is the journey of self-discovery, and Calgary-based artist Alianacriz De Sagun showcases her versatility through various mediums, from acrylic paintings to sculpting, film photography, and more. Born in Saudi Arabia, raised in the Philippines, and now in Calgary, Canada, she draws inspiration from her diverse experiences to create abstract depictions of nature and society. Alianacriz is on a quest to understand the intersection of passion and success in visual arts and seeks to inspire fellow artists to express their true selves, regardless of their surroundings.

Artist Statement

In consideration to how art has no fixed formula in getting a perfect outcome, I visualize art coming hand-in-hand with various fields in society. If art can move the viewer's imaginations and emphasize the importance of elements of designs and compositions within spaces, I believe art still has its power to create new discoveries that would feel at home. Because with art, I feel at home.
