Eggs
I really, really don’t like eggs. I don’t like poached eggs, or sunny-side-up eggs, or even scrambled eggs. So, what better thing to do than to make a sculpture of eggs? Perhaps, the only two eggs I’ll ever lay my hands on. The raw egg is made out of cast resin with a baked clay yolk, and the cooked egg is from glazed baked clay; probably not your top choice for breakfast.
Artist Statement
When I was little, I could always be found doodling on my homework pages and creating mini play dough sculptures. Creativity has always been a form of escape for me; something to take my mind off the busy world. As I got older and dabbled in pop art and hand lettering, my love for graphic-style painting blossomed. I hope to inspire people around me to take a step back from the seriousness of life and try to see it through a different, more colourful lens.
Artist Biography
I’m a second-year Visual Studies major with a minor in Management and Society, and I’ve had a love for art for as long as I can remember. My parents are both graphic designers, and they would always bring me to exhibitions and involve me in their practices. Due to this, I grew up surrounded by creativity and have grown an appreciation for many different forms of art. My life has always been pointed in a creative direction, and I’m so excited to continue pursuing it.
