67 conversations and beyond

White butterflies stand not only as symbols of transformation and new beginnings but also as embodiments of a guiding spirit. Through my interactions with these butterflies, I aimed to overcome the obstacles that stem from my shyness. I created meaningful connections with diverse individuals, from cherished friends and beloved family members to passing acquaintances and even strangers. Each conversation has been a valuable experience, blessed with the opportunity to get to know everyone’s personality and the vulnerabilities shared by all. As I watched these conversations unfold, I came to realize that every person harbours their own insecurities, worries, and struggles, just as I do. Each unique butterfly symbolizes not only a conversation I had but also a person who has opened up, allowing me the privilege to embrace the one thing I love about myself: being a listener.

Artist statement

In my recent works, I started to explore new mediums, stepping out of my comfort zone and investigating more of my identity. Questions such as “What do I love about myself? What do I hate? How do I view the world? Why do I perceive it that way?” have become central to my creative process. This journey has led me to recognize my role in society and the importance of understanding myself within the context of the world. Through my art, I seek to observe and introspect, creating a deeper connection with my subjects and myself.

artist biography

Human and social identity – these are aspects of life that strongly impact my work. Growing up, I was very fortunate to be surrounded by strong, resilient, and remarkable people whose influence continues to inspire and shape me as a person. Their stories encourage me to portray people’s lives, struggles, and what makes them who they are. Amidst the rush of life, we often overlook the simple things and the abundance of blessings we enjoy such as the beauty of nature, the kindness of strangers, or personal growth. Essentially, the objective of my work is to celebrate and acknowledge these blessings, encouraging viewers to reflect on themselves and the society they live in.
