WEAVE

Weave is an oil painting illustrating two hands that cross from one another, beginning to interlace. The piece was designed to capture a rendition of realistic hands, detailing the unique forms, values, and differences in two varied contrasting flesh tones. Weave is composed in the center of the light-muted background, illuminating the weaving of the two different hands. The pair of hands slightly blur into the background, creating an overall gentleness. The painting utilizes a slightly muted color palette reflective of the graceful hands, soft in movement. Moreover, Weave captures the subtle color changes of flesh with light and thin-multilayer brush strokes. The delicate and intricate painting process pulls viewers in for a closer inspection of the hands, as they begin to dance.
