Artist Statement

I am most alive in the high alpine, its fragile meadows, and snow tipped peaks. They are what occupy my mind between midterms and readings, a constant distraction reminding me to get outside. I am a rock climber, a skier, trail runner, and photographer; my lens set on Alberta's rocky peeks. While dodging papers, and assignments I seek to capture the awe of nature's behemoths, her mountains, glaciers 'n all the activities that take place within.

Journey, 2024

Nature's call is a challenge, one that comes at all hours of the night, and each moment of the day – it falls to us to heed her song. To answer nature's cry is a task one takes on with total devotion. Obsession is rewarded, and plans made while burning midnight oil yearn to see action in daylight. 'Journey' is a visual representation of an answer to nature's call, the time spent planning, the gear meticulously organized, while nature – unrelenting in its presence and scope, remains indifferent.
