Behemoth

Vanishing creatures of the old world, still active with life. The role of the glacier lies at the intersection of habitat, ecology, and personal alpine religion. Alone they serve as inhospitable bastions of ice, festering life within the forest floor far below. Offering benevolent passage to a select few climbers that seek their scale and challenge towards the soul.

Inspiration

As cliché as it sounds, my inspiration rests in the mountains. Their monolithic domination over the landscape and their ability to galvanise awe within those who enter their scope. Mountains are far more than rock, they are bastions of life, both fragile and hardy; they inspire challenge onto any who seek it, and they arouse poetic thought into those who walk along their rocky base.

Biography

Rock climber, skier, and photographer, Joshua feels most at home in the alpine meadows and snow-covered peaks of Alberta's mountains. Balancing a degree in Political Science with a role as a competitive nordic ski coach, Joshua continues to seek out mountain adventures between midterms, papers and ski races. Not new to photography as a hobby, the entrance into fine art photography and a continuation of nordic sports photography rests as the next progression to Joshua's photographic endeavours, creating lasting memories in the photography space.
