Artist Statement

Feeling, gesture, and storytelling are the main themes that inspire my work. I like to convey my perception of the thing I'm drawing, as if you are looking through the window that is my mind at that point in time while you view my artwork.

Artist Biography

I am a first-generation Filipino immigrant. I moved to Calgary when I was one year old and have been raised here my whole life. One of the reasons I love making art is that it allows me to learn and connect with the sitter/object of my work. Whether it is something I have personal experience with, or none at all, whatever the subject of my art is, the process requires me to understand, be immersed, or have curiosity toward that subject.
