Artist Biography

I have been painting and sketching for many years. I do it as a way to zone in on something and worry about nothing else. I love details and intense focus which urges clear thinking. I'm inspired by surrealism, literature, and nature. I really try to put the big feelings I have about the world into my art. This is my first time submitting my art anywhere, I don't have any training, and I love learning new things!

The Modern Audience

This piece is built off of the amazing literatures I am blessed to discuss every week. It shows the imposing role of technology over all aspects of life, which changes the way we share, create, connect, and express: both for better and worse. I used oil paint to practice smooth blending and straight lines, and bold dream-like colours to highlight the simultaneous dangers of technology and emotional dissonance omnipresent in our society.
