Artist Statement

My practice mainly revolves around storytelling, no matter how simple or complex the piece may appear. I enjoy creating artworks that pertain to my interests and understanding of the world, as well as telling a story beyond my life and perspective. I have always been fascinated by what the mind can create, especially when left alone to wonder in its purest state. This year, I decided to go back to creating more personal pieces, which were mostly done through my illustrations and paintings.

Unknown Approach

Unknown Approach is a contemporary expressionist acrylic painting done at the University of Calgary painting studio. This is based on my childhood nightmare about an unknown woman who was approaching me from the hallway leading to my room. It's one of the few dreams that genuinely disturbed me when analyzing from an older perspective.
