Olivia Pitman

Artist Biography

My name is Olivia Pitman, and I am in my second year as a Visual Studies major. I have been making art for a few years now, and I work both digitally and traditionally. My works mostly include pencil drawings, watercolour, and digital drawings. Art has been my hobby ever since I was a child, which made me decide to pursue it as a major. I aspire to grow as an artist and to learn more about art and the art world in the future.

Artist Statement

The artworks that I am presenting is a pen and pencil drawing of a still-life scene that I photographed for a project. These two works go together as a two-part project. The objects shown in my works are all objects that I have in my home. Pencil is a medium that I am comfortable with, while the pen is a medium that I have developed while working on this project. This project is meaningful to me, as I spent a lot of time and effort—and as a result, I developed my skills and my confidence.
