Desert Space

Desert Space art consists of plastic lids, acrylic paint, and a blow dryer to get the volcanic texture. This piece is a sad and emotional artwork because it represents the time of my life when I felt alone and isolated. It expresses me being on an island filled with sorrow, with no one around, and the happy emotions being trapped. In addition, the volcanic texture represents how the island is dangerous and expresses that no one should be on this island.

Words of the aRTIST

My artworks are abstract style and visualize my imaginations and inner thoughts and emotions. As well, all my artworks are part of me that I want to convey to the people around me and the world without judgment. As well as to hope that others can connect with it and express their imagination, emotions, and thoughts just like I have through my artworks.

Artist Biography

My name is Shruti Sharma, and I am 20 years old. I am currently studying Visual Studies at the University of Calgary. Since I was little, I have always had a little interest in art, especially abstract art. I found abstract art very interesting because there are no restrictions on what color or design it has to be, as well as the conversation with people as to what they see in the abstract artwork.
