One and Separation
In this art creation, I have decided to create two separate sections where one side of the page represents my rich abstraction of memories. As it moves to the top portion of the page, it suddenly shifts and falls into the dark void to visually represent the idea of how memory fades. Therefore, for this fine art piece, please consider the painting not only as a normal abstract painting of memory itself but the entire canvas representing the inside of our brain.

Artist Statement
Art is the only mechanism that allows individuals to freely speak their words in a visual context. When I first immigrated to Canada, I had no choice but to remain silent in front of people due to the language and cultural barrier between them and myself. Thus, my refugee to escape from those stressful places was by looking at famous artworks in books or online. I was not able to read its background stories, but looking at the artworks was the only enjoyable moment that allowed me to build up my interest in art.
I wanted to emphasize my pure artistic technique by challenging myself with different creative approaches in the art medium, materials, and methods. In my art practice, I chose to correlate the scene from reality with my imaginative source to form a mixed composition. After I was accepted into the Visual Studies program, my main objective was searching for my pure artistic technique that can be classified as my pure associated talent. Many known artists possess their methods of revealing and depicting specific themes and topics. I also wanted to build my style to communicate ideas and intentions in visual forms. Hence, I want to showcase my composition and color choice in abstractions.
Why did you start your art practice?
When I first chose my option class in high school, I realized that my most immense talents come from art and crafting. My potential to create and design from nothing into meaningful works is one of the most impressive skills that I possess within myself. Thus, as soon as I graduated from high school and got accepted into the University of Calgary, after one year of experiencing campus life, I immediately applied for the Visual Studies degree program to study art more in-depth and search for my pure artistic style.
