 Healthy Life

When I was young, I got a heart disease. I want to promote that everyone only got one life in their lives. We need to cherish every moment. We never know what will happen next. Life is unpredictable, and nothing lasts forever. Therefore, I crocheted a healthy heart, which uses the colour light pink and yellow to convey health. In our healthy life days, we should cherish the people we care about and the experiences we have, we can fully appreciate and value the moments we share with them.

Artist Statement

My works explore the relationship between food and health. I always got inspired by my personal experiences. Sometimes, I also get influenced by social media around the world. I enjoy talking about the topic of health in my art as I want to promote good health. In my art practice, I like to use crochet. This is because I like to get the audience excited and engage in my work.

Artist Biography

I am Edith. I am from Hong Kong. I study at the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Besides crochet, I am keen with using drawing, sculpture, and photography as my mediums of my art practice. In my leisure time, I enjoy traveling and interacting with my friends or family members.
